[full disclosure] 6 years US Army Infantry. Volunteered for the Airborne and Ranger courses in basic but was sidelined by pneumonia and missed my chance to attend. Got shipped to Germany, never was able to get back to Ranger school. I am not a Ranger nor have I ever considered myself a Ranger.
The general rule is - if you earn the tab, you earn the right to call yourself a Ranger.
Correct. I’m a former infantryman and I served with a ton of people that had the tab. They were all Rangers. I was not a Ranger. Run of the mill infantry mortar man.
