The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a sweeping order late Friday requiring the use of face masks on nearly all forms of public transportation from Tuesday as the country continues to report thousands of daily COVID-19 deaths.
The order, which takes effect at 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, requires face masks to be worn by all travelers on airplanes, ships, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares and at transportation hubs like airports, bus or ferry terminals, train and subway stations and seaports.
The CDC said people violating the order could potentially face criminal penalties, but suggested civil penalties would be more likely if needed.

A year into this almost, and this starts up now?
They didn’t mention horseback or riding lawnmowers, but I assume those in play as well?
How is this different that the current situation? Airlines and airports won’t let you within a mile of them without a mask.

I can’t think of any place in the U.S. where viral pathogens are more easily transmitted between people than the New York City subway system. It has never stopped running through this whole fiasco.
What authority does the CDC have to issue such a mandate, especially if connected with criminal penalties?
Least we forget, C19 is a biological attack emanating from communist China.

I would kinda agree, either via airline flights, or the NYC subway...the whole thing has been fairly open to being passed around.
I might argue on NYC...since half-a-million left mid-town by July, and there’s probably another three-quarters of a million from the entire city that left by December...maybe ridership is way down. I saw a video in November where one guy talked about the afternoon rush-hour and maybe only one-third of the riders onboard. Cashflow via tickets is way down as well.
This week in Germany....draft-paper was being passed around, with the suggestion of shutting down all passenger incoming-outgoing flights until after Easter (figure 60 days). Decision would be made next week. No one seems that shocked over the suggestion....that’s really the odd part of the current trend (shock-factor doesn’t exist anymore).
My question too. Next thing you know every stinking little federal bureaucracy will be coming out with their own “mandates”.

I wear two.
One on the front of my head, one on the back.
Seems to work just fine. No one can tell if I’m coming or going.
It really confuses people when I enter a store walking backwards. Fun!

Wear as many as you need to significantly lower your intake of noxious greenhouse gases like O2. You will be starting at around 94-95 without a mask, so you need to lower in into the 80s better into the 70s. This way when you get the flu and incur other serious health problems, due to lowered O2 intake, you can become another dead person - a statistic with complications
