“In the past four years, reproductive health, including the right to choose, has been under relentless and extreme attack,” it continues. “We are deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to care—including reproductive health care—regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.”
The good Catholic Joe. The Pope even congratulated him on his election.

The White House announced Friday that the Biden Administration will codify Roe v. Wade, which would allow for legal abortions even in the event that the Supreme Court overturns the 1973 ruling. Uh, no. Passing a new law would just open up a good reason for the Supreme Court to re-visit Roe v. Wade.

I have never understood the fervor over this. I was raised in NY state and there were legal abortions available well before Roe v Wade. What is the problem still with leaving the regulation of this to the states just as with any other medical procedure. The smaller states without large demand for abortions end up with incompetent barely qualified doctors performing these procedures with no backup available should something go wrong. The wacko left fights tooth and nail against states that want to require doctors that perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital. Any doctor that lacks admitting privileges is basically an incompetent quack.

Not possible. They could pass a law stipulating that abortion is legal in US states and territories, but if Roe is overturned, the states have jurisdiction again and can outlaw it in their territories.

The White House doesn’t pass legislation or new statutes. It executes them. Guess Lyin Biden is too dumb to know the difference.

Seems that this regime thinks it can “codify” something by means of executive decree.

In the larger states, you don’t even have to be a doctor to perform one. Just sayin’.

I have never understood the fervor over this. I was raised in NY state and there were legal abortions available well before Roe v Wade. What is the problem still with leaving the regulation of this to the states just as with any other medical procedure. My guess is that some states didn't bother to repeal their own abortion laws in the aftermath of Roe v Wade, so if it were ever overturned, abortion would suddenly become illegal again. That outcome lies with the state legislatures and governors.
(I estimate the odds of the Supreme Court repealing Roe V. Wade about the same as a giant meteor striking Washington DC while Congress is in session. Both events are unlikely.)

Isn’t it ironic that prolife Trump had during his administration the first uptick in the number of abortions since 2006 in the last year the CDC has data (2018).
To: Yo-Yo
That would require the court to be brave enough to declare an unborn child a person. This court will not.
Overturning Roe wouldn’t do anything other than make abortion a State issue again.
Thus, if a federal law is in place, it would override State law to the contrary. Overturning Roe would do nothing.

We gave women the right to vote and the first thing and still the most important thing to them is killing their children.
