The NYT like all Dems don’t believe this country is a federation of states. The problem is that Dem run states are totally incompetent and thus need the Federal government to always bail them out. At the same time they demand to be able to do whatever they want when it comes to social crap. Notice that the Dem states are dictatorial when compared to Repub states. It is the typical hypocrisy of the Left.
You will see President Harris move to allow the blue states and cities to issue federally backed debt.
Yes I know the fedgov is broke, but the federal charade will go on a lot longer than the state ones.
