Hundreds of tourist-trade businesses DEFY Covid lockdown rules and say they will reopen in Poland because lockdown they 'won't survive another month'
Ski slopes, restaurants and hotels in Poland's tourist-reliant mountainous south have announced they will defy anti-virus restrictions and reopen Monday, as small business owners nationwide grow increasingly weary of lockdown.
Around 200 entrepreneurs have joined the so-called 'Highlanders' Veto' movement, whose leader Sebastian Piton announced the disobedience campaign while clad in the traditional outfit of the Tatra mountains.
'The entrepreneurs are this determined because they realise they won't survive another month - so they have no choice,' said Piton, who has described coronavirus as a 'minor, pleasant illness'. somebody is waking up!
I hope I can make it to Poland this year once this crap is over.
Mass disobedience and rioting is what it will take to get the COVID boot off of our necks.
Zakopane - High Tatras
Yep, been wanting to go there for years.
I thought Poland was one of the saner countries. I didn’t know they locked themselves down.
Actually all we need to do is take off the masks and bravely walk into our stores and churches.
There is no need for rioting, just take off the mask to prove that you are not okay with the forced face diaper compliance.
I heard recently where a bunch of people gathered in front of a store took off their masks and they all walked into the store.
Too many unmasked people for the mask nazi's to deal with.
That was not rioting, just strolling into a store to do some shopping.
Will it be possible to leave this continent?
I am on the fence too. Just bought an acreage in Atlantic Canada, but will I be able to save enough money to build a homestead? Spent all my cash to get it.
My friend in Slovakia wants me to come and help him with his. Already running, just he needs help to make it profitable. Between the rock and a hard place...
Exactly, but way too many people believe the government.
Got to fight many fronts
I like Slovakia too. Actually if I could re-locate the Gdansk/Sopot area is probably my top choice.
Pretty industrial. But depends what you wanna do.
Outside of the shipyard, not really, the old town is great, plus they have beaches. I would love to tour Westerplatte.
The EU is pushing very hard! it’s a difficult situation. You could be cut out of trade...
Baltic gets bloody cold, but nothing is far in Europe. Easy peasy to get anywhere. just checked the flights. now, I know, it’s about 12 “ees” to get from London to Bratislava.
Actually if I go through with my plan it would split between Poland and Spain. I really like the Costa del Sol area.
Not the cheapest place of Spain , eh?
Nope, who knows how things will be once this is all over, what will be left.
What’s the cost of living in Bratislava? I like the fact that’s basically only an hour from Vienna.
Other then that, life is pretty cheap. In 2010 my auto insurance was €79.00 a year. Food in Restaurant is from €4 lunch, €6 dinner, beer €1-2, a loaf of bread, 3lb 75 cents, liter of fresh non pasteurized milk 60 cents. Pork from €2 kg, beef €5 kg.
My fav pic of view of Tatras and Spiš Castle in slovakia.
