Report Says Quarter of Americans Will Cancel Cable TV in 2021
Breitbart ^ | January 13 2021 | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 01/13/2021 11:50:14 PM PST by knighthawk

An incredible “27% of U.S. cable TV subscribers plan to end their subscriptions by the end of 2021, which is nearly double the 15% that did so in 2020 and a big jump from the 3% annual decline [in] 2020,” reports TV Technology.

This is another disaster for left-wing Hollywood and the fake news media, for it is through the cable TV racket that naïve Americans pay a monthly fortune for channels they never watch. And it is this racket that allows failing left-wing outlets like MTV, CNNLOL, and ESPN to hold on.

Yep, whether you watch them or not, all of these left-wing channels receive a piece of your cable bill, and it is this unearned money keeps them afloat.

I cut my DirecTV last June and started streaming with a Roku.

I don’t have time to watch all the free stuff I can stream so I haven’t subscribed to any pay-streaming channels. I’ve found ways to cut down on the ads too.

There are two groups in this mix. The first group will go from heavily-packaged cable-tv options....to strictly local networks, the weather channel and old-movies channels (what I’d call raw-basic options).

The second group are dumping cable-TV entirely.

What’ll happen here....after cable managers view the consequences...prices have to go up for the remaining viewers (maybe 20-percent or more). The worst hit from this ‘drama’? Probably ESPN. There’s a fantastic amount of lost viewers for NFL and NBA action, and the political slant from ESPN destroyed their core business.

The trend will continue until they offer a la carte. The basic bundle always includes the MARXIST media

Not enough. More! Cable and satellite TV are brainwashing tools for slavery.

Finally. Too late to reverse many minds poisoned by those outright purveyors of false narratives. Go for abc...nbc...cbs...espn...twitter....facebook....never had cable...saw the misrepresentation long ago...

How do you do email wo/ CATV?
xfinity (Commiecast) bundles both CATV and Net access, for $200/mo, and I don’t know where to get just a email service. I want to dump xfinity. I have ROKU on an 82” Samsung, mounted on the wall.

No cable, no Netflix, no Disney+ (Including Hulu), no YouTube, no Amazon Video, no CBS

What in the hell is there to entertain yourself with?

Just looking for options.

Cable, satellite etc have to go ‘a la carte’ or die.

I once overheard a conversation between two cable TV industry executives who were very frank in their pessimism about the future. They were talking about cable news channels, but their assessment would apply across the board to TV in general.

Their basic point was that there are now so many TV channels available to viewers that almost none of them can generate the audience they need to justify the cost of operating the channel and developing content for the viewers. The industry has reached the point where it’s like having 25 different companies producing cars for a market where only 100,000 cars are sold every year. Nobody would sell enough cars to cover the cost of an auto manufacturing plant in that scenario.

Yeah, a book will work really well on my one of my TVs. Not.

Boring as eff. And I have a fairly huge library of physics and astronomy science, science fiction (mostly collectables still in plastic wrap) and technical game development books.

I have Comcast. You can ditch the TV and keep the internet unless you have a contract with them. They will up the price of internet access a bit..
