Never saw the logic with this. Toilets are one thing (a cycled task) but a faucet that takes forever to fill up a bucket or rinse your hands under achieves nothing as far as water conservation. Same with a shower head.

The old Seinfeld skit.

Usually just a rubber restricter in the shower head.

Unscrew the head and remove the restricter.

You can always pop open that showerhead, get your drill, and widen the inlet hole in the showerhead yourself. You can increase the lressure to the point where you could wash circus elephants if you’d like.

If the unthinkable happens and Biden is installed as president, who will these pseudo-journalists write snarky, petty articles about? And as we’ve been saying all along, this isn’t as much about Trump as it is aimed at conservatives, with the inference that we’re ignorant, racist, etc. and too stupid to “save the planet”. Is there any wonder our country is so divided?

I didn’t even know this was a thing, but I’m not surprised.

I like how this change effects basically no one since it only matters if you have multiple shower heads.

How about, unless you’re going to pay my water and electricity bills, you don’t worry how I’m using either.

Funny how we pushed government out of the bedroom, but not out of the shower.

I had a local (probably non-licenced) hick plumber install a shower a few year ago, and the guy used an old showerhead. He also cranked the temp up on my water heater.

I got in the shower and I got A TON OF HOT WATER. Just a soaking, drenching flood of beautiful hot water.

I hadn’t taken a shower like that since I was a kid.

It was HEAVENLY.

There’s a little plastic doohickey (the restrictor) that can be removed. It’s in the head or the hose, and just pops out when you locate it. Just unscrew all the fittings and you’ll eventually find it.

I just changed out one of those miserable heads that have all sorts of fancy settings, none of them good. The needle jets of water stung something awful, specially on, ahem, sensitive parts.

I installed a Speakman Anystream and yanked the flow restrictor. It is SO nice now getting a good old fashioned real shower. This is a solidly built, well made shower head. They owned he hotel market years ago, but lost a lot of that (I’m guessing) with the water conservation regs. You can find Speakman heads on Amazon.

My city (California) gave me nice fat rebate checks for energy efficient washer, dryer, fridge and new HVAC system.

I draw the line at low flush toilets and low-water emission shower heads. You’ll get the old high flow shower-head out of my cold dead hands - most likely my old “regular flush” toilet too.

I put a branching “Y” in the plumbing, and removed the washer that restricts flow.

I can take a blazing hot shower in about 1 minute.

Now put the phosphates back into dishwasher soap. Been doing that manually with TSP. Almost always a way around the EPA when you know how stuff works— and thanks, Google! Won’t bring up what I’ve done with A/C systems... F the environazis.

The shower heads are easy to correct. Get rid of those low flow toilets that accomplish nothing. How does it help to reduce the water flow by 50% if one has to flush two or three times?

Surprised nobody’s brought up the Seinfeld episode about low-flow shower heads

California limits me to 1.5 gallons/minute. I can’t even buy a 2.0 gpm shower head off Amazon. They can’t ship it to me.

I hate California soooooooo much!

I’m pretty sure most of the low flow shower heads have lost the flow restrictor plate from the attachment hose/fitting.

A few years ago I bought a turkey fryer. The regulator had a battery powered 10 minute timer, probably due to some government safety Nazi.

We were on a campout and the battery died. At that point is when I discovered the battery.

We found a way to bypass the timer and actually get to use the fryer for the intended purpose.
