Unfortunately it is probably similar in most other countries. Ireland is a good example. The worst scandal of recent times, the clerical sexual abuse of young people (mostly males), would have been far less if the bishops had been vigilant and cracked down immediately when there was a credible accusation against a priest instead of just assigning him to another parish. The current pope seems to think there is nothing wrong with homosexual behavior as long as no one under 18 is involved.

Just saw a news item that the pope has proclaimed the coming year to be one to honor St. Joseph. I wonder if he picked St. Joseph as a compliment to Joe Biden.

I believe Bergoglio is an atheist, so he doesn't care one way or the other about the morality of most sexual activities. I suspect he has enabled homosexuals in the clergy because then they will be in his debt and he can control them and enlist their support in his effort to destroy the Church from within.
