Carl Bernstein, one of the two journalists who exposed President Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal, has named Texas Sen. John Cornyn as one of 21 Republican senators to privately express how they "disdain and even despise" President Donald Trump.
"With few exceptions, their craven public silence has helped enable Trump’s most grievous conduct—including undermining and discrediting the US the electoral system," Bernstein wrote on Twitter.
"Many, if not most of these individuals from what I have been told, were happy to see Donald Trump defeated in this election as long as the Senate could be controlled by the Republicans," Bernstein said in a Nov. 20 appearance on CNN, where he initially named Cornyn.

I had so wanted to skip the Senate race in TX in 2020, but had to go with Cornyn to hold the seat.

If you want to be honest, it’s surprising that the list is not even longer. I like my president, Mr. Trump, but it has not been an easy tenure for the typical GOPe or RINO republican. Trump has his own way of doing things and does not feel the need to have most the media liking it.
Trump is far more concerned with what works and what the citizens say they want. Your basic, run of the mill republican is simply not used to that at all.
Some will breath a ‘sigh of relief’ if Trump’s presidency comes to an end next January. There is still a preponderance of Meek & Mousy Behavior in the GOP. They have become accustomed to living in the Democrat shadows, waiting to react to whatever the Dems say and do.
They can all go back to competition with Biden and Kerry’s kids for the spoils.
