A California judge has ruled that Gov. Gavin Newsom overstepped his authority when he issued an executive order requiring vote-by-mail ballots sent to all registered voters, according to reports.
Sutter County Superior Court Judge Sarah Heckman ruled Friday that Newsom did not have the authority to amend or change existing election law – even during a pandemic.
The ruling put a permanent injunction on Newsom, prohibiting him from changing existing law under the California Emergency Services Act (CESA), according to KCRA.

It is interesting that on a procedural technicality, the Judge rules Gov Newsom overstepped his authority but it has no effect on the current election.
This is the strategy being used in MI where they are seeking to have an immediate impact on the current election due to a procedural technicality.
So? What he did still stands, and he suffers no penalty. BFD..

The suit was effectively made moot because the legislature passed the laws he wanted a few weeks after he made the order. The judge decided to go ahead and rule. The election was not affected.

I sense a pattern here... VA governor illegally changing election laws, PA SOS illegally changing laws, GA SOS illegally changing election laws.

Still waiting for judges to rule that the covid lockdowns are unconstitutional. I predict that they will rule 10 years from now and of course there will be no punishment for the perps.
Not quite the way it should go. Throw out the election. Legislature then votes CA’s EVs for Biden. But in doing so gives cover for GOP legislatures in PA, MI, WA, GA and AZ to vote their state’s EVs for Trump. AZ McCainiacs decline but rest come through and re-elect Trump.
