I don’t know how to take it
Need to consider the context for this comment.
It is NOT discouraging, nor “defeatist”.
Dr.Darrell Scott wrote last night....
“I talked to the Potus this evening. His spirits were high, his resolve concrete, his determination absolute, and his confidence unshaken!”.......
Like a movie.
Of course POTUS has contemplated this ... how could he not?
But I think the consequences for his supporters and the country he loves is what strengthens his resolve to stop the steal.
He’s only human, Look at how he gets treated all the time, even he’ll feel like that sometimes. Important thing is he thought and did not speak it.

I took that to mean that at first he thought that, but as the evidence came in of the election fraud and vote fraud, he thought differently.
Here’s the section:
“The president told York he has contemplated losing. “I’m a guy who realizes – five days ago, I thought, ‘Maybe,’” he said. “But, now I see evidence, and we have hundreds of affidavits,” referring to the testimony included in lawsuits by his campaign.”
