San Franciscos 11-member Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Monday to ban the use of natural gas in new buildings as a measure to fight climate change.
Ironically, the state relies on natural gas for electricity generation, and the city does to some extent as well.

That doesnt even make sense.
There is nothing wrong with natural gas, as green goes, it’s pretty green.
Building shortage in San Francisco
Maybe they can go to wood burning stoves. That will work.
If they used all the human feces on the street they’d have free fuel for years.
LOL yes it is!
I guess it will be like Bob Cratchett. “Bring in another lump of coal.”

Welcome to California aka Hell on Earth
Sure it makes sense.
It prevents competitors from entering the market with new and better products, which increases the value of existing buildings owned by the powers that be.
Its basic graft, in the open, using environmental nonsense as its excuse.
It is very stupid for many reasons, but the electric sources are more varied than that.
Currently Northern CA depends on - Hydro, Nuke (Diablo Canyon), Nat Gas and “renewables”.
Nat Gas is used for both baseline gen plus “peaking”, and a backup to the others. It is extremely flexible that way.
Nuke is baseline. They will be closing down Diablo Canyon, but I doubt that “renewables” will make up the difference in time for that to work, or if it can at all.
Hydro is unreliable, to a point, because it depends on rainfall. A dry year can cut generation potential up to 50%. The difference is usually made up with Nat Gas.
“Renewable” is mostly Solar, plus wind. Both are irregular and unreliable. Note that “renewable” gen capacity as often seen is misleading. That is absolute peak capacity, not actual recorded generation.
WHY the HELL would ANYONE be building in SF?? He’s a HRELLHOLE full of FECES!
Californias renewables requirements means it already imports a lot of electricity from other states, particularly when demand is high.
So it means more demand for out-of-state electricity, and even worse black-outs.
