Apparently, they follow orders well when their job is on the line, even to the point of ignoring corruption.
The ‘Thin Blue Line’ is a ‘Thick Blue Wall’, and it serves it’s own interests.
SInce election machines are not supposed to be on an internet the only choice to move information is through media like an USB drive etc.
Now the difference between your “corporation” and the election is that your corporation has ties to a corporate server that is connected through an intranet or internet. An election spreads out machines where an intranet is not feasible. Nor are dedicated intranet linesto each city. Therefore the data must be moved to a central location and this is done via media like a USB drive/flash drive/CD ROM etc.
When you know more about the technology you can chime in with your ignorant remarks. I know a lot of techs still use USB drives in the corporate production environment, approved first of course.
Ah, the wonders of modern digital storage - so much easier than hiding ballots in mop closets and car trunks...

Chain of custody was lost when she had sole possession of the thumb drive.
One would think that something as valuable as that flash drive would have been put in a large, visible lock box (faraday cage protected) with two (2) locks or numbered seals (one from each party observing the election) and then transported to the other location. But thats only me...
