....and “too early” would constite any time before Dems count enough Harris/Biden votes for Harris/Biden to win. 7pm on election day should be the deadline for receiving votes. Period.
Back then a few people still read TIME Magazine. Their article the week after the election said Jimmy and Roslynn were campaigning on the west coast on Monday. After boarding AF-1 to fly back to GA to vote the next day, some of their staff went to them and told them that their own polling said it was over; that Reagan had it in the bag. So Jimmy already knew it the day before, and conceded early to not prolong the misery. He may have actually been relieved, what with the hostages in Teheran 444 days and the economy in shambles. He may have been glad to let Reagan have it.
You’ll have to explain to me how declaring victory after the polls are closed is going to suppress votes. The only votes that this could suppress would be illegal votes found in closets and car trunks that have been staged to steal the election. If Trump declares victory this will be the signal to Democrat operatives around the country to “discover” all these poor forgotten voters.
Yawn....Biden will actually try this stunt.
