For the same reason they do in Chicago.
C-I-L-L my landlord!
Killing landlords is a feature, not a bug, in Dimm programming of society.
As crazy as it may seem, this is all being done on purpose to crash the economy, bankrupt the middle class and usher in the New World Order.....
Avoid NY City for the next 10 years.
Democrats could be marching NYers to the gallows and they
would still vote for them.
Plank #1 of the Communist Manifesto: Abolition of private property.
When do de Blasio and Cuomo offer a “buy back” option for struggling landlords?
Resulting in the NY city/state government becoming the largest landlord of residential property in the country...
It’s shocking that any government can sell leins on taxes owed to it. What does the government gain by doing such a thing other than not having to employ its own tax collecting agency?
He who robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on Paul's vote. There are more tenants than landlords. See also: The Curley Effect

Since April in my 36 unit apt building where I live there has been at least 17 apts of people moving out as they did not pay rent. I have been told that they pay 1st month and last then stop paying after moving in. Currently have 4 empty apts. Some of them have had multiple renters so higher then 17. That number is just from seeing people coming and going.
