Hackers stole $2.3 million from the Wisconsin Republican Party intended for President Donald Trump's reelection effort, state party officials confirmed to ABC News Thursday. "Cybercriminals, using a sophisticated phishing attack, stole funds intended for the re-election of President Trump, altered invoices and committed wire fraud," Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Andrew Hitt said in a statement.

Come on, how is it possible to lose $2.3 million in a hack? It is a huge F up or inside job. Something stinks here that is a lot of money for one state and it makes team Trump there look incompetent or worse.
The avenue in which these thieves pilfered the account was through billing statements from companies that the Wi. RNC deals with currently. What I can’t understand is how the electronic footprint should lead to someones front door ...no?

Phishing that worked. The Wisconsin Republican Party would not like to admit that it was duped by unsophisticated phishing. However, an employee probably supplied a username and password in response to an email, or in response to a webpage linked in an email. Anyone ignorant enough to do such a thing should not have been trusted with the username and password.
