US weekly jobless claims fall more than expected to 751,000 as labor-market recovery continues

The number of Americans filing for unemployment insurance fell more than expected last week as the US labor market's recovery advanced.

New US weekly jobless claims totaled an unadjusted 751,000 for the week that ended Saturday, the Labor Department said Thursday morning. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected claims to land at 770,000. The reading marks a decline from the previous week's revised total.

I spoke with a vendor yesterday who said a customer he visited regularly was having such a hard time filling vacancies that they were no longer doing drug testing. Scary!

Passed my local McDonald's yesterday which said they were offering a $100 bonus to new hires with an additional $300 bonus if they were on the job three months later

Yes!! I finally was rehired from being furloughed in March. Been looking and applying for jobs since August.
