Variety ^ | 10/27/2020 | Brian Steinberg

Analysis: Parting ways with the CNN news chief would put WarnerMedia in need of a new leader as news competitors have been making moves to expand.

-snip-

Spokespersons from CNN and WarnerMedia did not respond to queries seeking comment on Zucker’s status with the company. The Information and The Wall Street Journal previously reported on the potential for Zucker to leave CNN in coming months.

Zucker is toast at CNN. No contract renewal from AT&T after it expires in December.

I would like to say, “Well CNN couldn’t be worse than it is with Zucker,” but it really could, and probably will be.

Wow, Zucker presided over a golden age for CNN where their ratings kept them consistently competitive with reruns of “Everyone Loves Raymond” in several urban markets and airports. It’s hard to imagine how they can continue without his steady hand on the tiller.

Maybe they looked at CNN’s ratings and asked themselves, “Does having a CEO that demands every single story of whatever type have at least one slam against Trump cause our ratings to go up or down?” and they did not like what they saw.

Best part is going to be when AT&T cleans house at CNN when Zucker is gone in January.

The next month is shaping up to be a great one—the President re-elected and Zucker fired—a twofer!

When Trump wins, expect a massive cleaning house effort at CNN. They’re still going to be liberal, that won’t change, but the ‘network of the resistance’ and anti-Trump 24/7 will be toned down.

Just getting rid of Cooper and Lemon would be a great start.

If Zucker goes, I don't see how Cuomo, Lemon and that crazy b*tech that used to work for Fox remain at CNN.
They'll let their contracts run out and that will be it.

Paul Ryan could easily make the jump from Fox News. He’s of the same stripe.

Maybe they could become a news agency again?

OK I admit, that is a little far-fetched.

The historical story and legacy of this election will be the collapse of Journalistic ethics. They can’t hide from what they are doing and everyone sees it and the evidence is overwhelming.

In short, the media killed any and all credibility they had.

CNN is forever now known as DNC.

They should sell CNN TO Trump for $1 as part of an unconditional surrender to Trump.

That would be for the best for all Americans. But I am not sure the MSM would go back to accurately reporting real news any more than I think the Education system will go back to teaching rather than indoctrination.

I think they are too entrenched and will continue to undermine Pres Trump and wait for the next attempt in 2024 to impose their Marxist ideals on us.

Zucker should go. But sometimes I feel a little sorry for Wolf Blitzer. He has to sit there night after night and hear grown men tell him fairy tales. I think sometime his eyes glaze over and he’s wondering what has he and his profession become.

Well, I’ll argue that the fate of CNN will be determined by a committee of ATT board members.

Those board members in attendance at tons of meetings and in receipt of tons of various studies relating to sales and profitability will render some decision. They may well determine that the status quo at CNN is untenable in the Trump era and the best and most profitable course is to close CNN altogether.

The CNN fate depends on sales of advertisements. There may just not enough viewers to provide the eyes necessary to sell ads in sufficient volume to support operations.

Wolfie doesn't need any sympathy.

Just a spine.

He’s probably making plans to work in a Biden administration, and he probably planned to work for Hillary too.
