The big difference between 1988 and now is the Dukakis election marked the last time the Democrats "accepted the results of the election" and moved on with their lives. Since then, the only possible outcome is either they win or they riot and break stuff and declare the winning candidate is "totally illigimate" and "worst President ever" and must be removed by force if necessary.

And ironically they accuse OUR side of not being willing to accept election results. Ummm no. I didnt March down the national mall screaming that Clinton and Obama were "not my president"
