A better article of what they are getting is here:
And besides getting ire from China, it will also piss off the NBA, most shoe companies, and Hollywood. Might as well make it a pain for everyone that wants to play the game. As my old man used to say, “You dance, you pay the piper.”

RE: That should energize the CCP
Should we assume that the CCP will NOT be energized if the new arms sales were NOT approved?
Likely the AGM-84H/K SLAM-ER - 170 mile range, 800lb warhead, sub sonic
It can be launched and controlled by a variety of aircraft including the F/A-18 Hornet, F/A-18 Super Hornet, and P-3C Orion, as well as by the U.S. Air Force’s F-15E Strike Eagle.
Will “enrage China”. Really? I’d like to see that, but it’s total nonsense.
China would invade Taiwan on the very day Kamala became president.
Excellent!
I have a hunch, that either way the CCP has had their eyes on Taiwan. It is just a question if the CCP wants to prove a point or not, similar to Hong Kong in which case I do believe China lost more than they actually gained, not to mention that they already had plenty of control in HK and could interact with the west quite freely either legally or under the table. But as it is right now anyone who may have some interest in dealing with the west may have some second thoughts.
Besides the current chairman of the CCP is not getting any younger and power hungry as most politicians are he just may give it a try to recapture former Formosa and in turn get another feather for his cap. It probably will boil down to, if whatever it takes will justify the means as well as loss of life’s. If it be me, I would leave Taiwan alone as China could benefit more from a peaceful relationship. But communists don’t think along the same lines and any opposition will not be tolerated.
The question is, does the CCP think it has the military might to occupy Taiwan? If their calculus says yes, they’re eventually going to have to defeat the American Navy, and I don’t see a CCP military force powerful enough to do that anytime soon.
Sell them stuff that is no longer at the cutting edge. In Tucson , for example, there is a military aircraft graveyard. Fix up some of these older planes and sell it to them cheap. Taiwan should do what Switzerland does, every able body man must have an operation machine gun at home.
