Justice Thomas is 72 years old. He is at an age where cancer, heart attack, influenza, Covid-19, or stroke can result in him leaving the court. In addition, he may determine he wished to live his golden years in retirement instead of in the Washington sewer. He owns an RV and many retirees enjoy the RV lifestyle. It would be a shame if he retires in the next 4 years and Joe Biden makes the appointment with a Dem Senate majority that will appoint someone farther to the left than Ginsburg.
Justice Roberts has a history of seizures. It is also possible the next president will appoint a new Chief Justice.. The 6-3 conservative majority on the court could disappear in the first year of a Biden term.

Judge Barrett is such a fine choice in a long line of truly splendid judicial appointments by President Trump.

I can hardly describe how impressed I have been by Judge Barrett, and I say this as a former attorney myself.
