"Marriage" in the United States is no more than a tax stamp of approval from the local government. Real marriages are condoned in a Church.
So why the fuss over 2 guys getting married? or 2 women?
Liberals supposedly are for "equality in license to one's natural desires" so long as those desires don't conflict with the desires of others. It's a fun ride for a while until everything goes over the cliff.
Governments should legislate marriage and limit it to be between one man and one woman because that is the only hope that their children have of reaching their full potential. People who don't want to have children shouldn't get married.
If someone wants some specific person to be able to visit them in the hospital when they are sick, or engage in any of the other activities currently automatically assigned to spouses then they can get a lawyer and have him write up the necessary powers of attorney.
