'It's an absolute joke': Seattle officers leave scathing responses in exit interviews

SEATTLE (KOMO) — Seattle Police officers who are leaving the department gave scathing responses during their exit interviews.

KOMO obtained the exit interviews — which blamed city leadership, to riots and low morale for leaving the department.

Brutal and blunt — in their own words, SPD officers did not hold back their reasons for leaving the force.

One retiring patrol sergeant who had been on the force for more than 20 years said, "I refuse to work for this socialist city council and their political agenda. This agenda sacrifices the health and well-being of the officers and ultimately will destroy the fabric of this once fine city.”

When asked: “What factors had a negative effect on morale in the department?”

One officer whose job is up in the air said, “The council wanting to defund us and gaining ground doing it. Rioters not being charged even when they assault officers.”

Another patrol officer from the East Precinct who was resigning after 6-10 years of service offered this explanation for leaving the department, “Current hostile work environment. In a precinct that is under civil unrest by a small group that is constantly committing multiple felonies and attempting to murder peace officers.”

When followed up with the question: “What did you enjoy least about working at SPD?”

The officer said, “I enjoyed almost every aspect of working with Seattle PD itself. The one thing that I enjoyed the least was the handling of the last three months of riots.”

Jim Fuda is the Crimestoppers Director of Law Enforcement Services which works with SPD. He said the responses point to a hostile and non-supportive work environment for officers.

“It’s ridiculous," Fuda said. "Just when you think it can’t get more, inane, it does."

In response to the question: “Would you like to work for SPD again in the future?”

Some said they’re open to the opportunity if things change “drastically.”

One K-9 officer who’s resigning after more than 11 years said, “I highly doubt it. You could pay me twice what you’re paying me now and I would not work for Seattle under this current political mayhem, Marxist collaborations and lack of government and police leadership.”

“It’s an absolute joke and a travesty for the rest of the citizens here in this city, this once beautiful city,” said Fuda. “Our police department is there to protect all of us and because of the cutbacks and the retirements, who’s going to protect our public safety.”

According to the exit interviews, the some of the SPD officers are leaving for departments like Everett, Des Moines, Kennewick and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office—places they said the feel like they will get more support.

People should get what they vote for. And they should get it good and hard.

Liberalism destroys cities. Liberalism is trying to destroy the country. All voters who stayed home better get their a**es out to the polls and vote for Donald J. Trump, at least we will have another 4 years to stem the toilet flush that’s happening in America.

Sooner or later, the populace will make the socialist idiots live the lives they pushed on others.
Hopefully that will be soon.
Make them afraid to sleep at night.
Make them afraid to drink the water.
Make them afraid to turn off the lights.
Make them AFRAID TO LIVE IN AMERICA.
There are countries for socialists and communists.
Kick their bloody *sses out and make them live in those sewers.

It's NOT just police officers leaving Seattle - - citizens and companies are leaving too.

Commie hellholes work best when citizens can be forced to stay. In the US we can still 'vote with our feet'...

Waiting to see that from the FBI!

Don't hold your breathe. There is no evidence that even one feeb is not corrupt. One good thing about the biden laptop is that the FBI got caught with its pants down for all the world to see.

This speaks to about a third of the reason I left Seattle in 2011. The politicians were insane then and I’d had it. I honestly had no idea that it could get this bad. It is absolute lunacy, and it will not last. The price will be paid - is being paid. But the cost won’t be counted in 2020. That comes later.

There are FBI agents in field offices all over the country, there are FBI HRT agents deployed with military special operations in dusty backwaters all over the world. I think there are far too many agents in far too many places doing too many different tasks to say that they are all corrupt.

What I have seen and heard, there are a lot of residents who go along with this socialist agenda. It’s hard to believe these people are this brain dead and suicidal.

I left Seattle in 2011. One of my daughters and her husband left in 2017 and another left in 2018. My third daughter and her husband are still there, but his business office lease expires at the end of the year. He employs roughly 35 developers for his internet presence. They are all working from home.

Not only is he leaving Seattle in January, but his business is going permanent WFH, and he’ll not be hiring any more Seattle (Tier one market) employees. They are too expensive. He won’t lay any existing ones off, but all new hires will come from other, low cost of living markets, where equally qualified employees can be had for 2/3 or half as much.

If the Boston FBI, and its sordid history of colluding with mob boss Whitey Bulger is any indication, then Houston, we have a problem.

Not one FBI agent anywhere came out against what the FBI leadership did to candidate and then President Trump. Not a single one. Add to that their recent history of Ruby Ridge; Waco; the FBI lab scandal; their continued failure to stop terrorists and mass shooters when those threats were known to them; and their habit of entrapment, and in my definition of the word, they are all corrupt.

Why are the comments deemed “scathing”? Sounds like the truth to me. “When telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”

I’m sick & tired of Hannity’s “99.9% of FBI agents are good & honorable” bullshit.
They’re government agents corrupt & vile in their abuse of power. Where were these “honorable” people when the President was illegally impeached?
How many knew/know which agents leak to news agencies but say nothing? How many illegal warrants/investigations?
Corrupt since Hoover. Always was always will be servants of the state. They don’t care about law or rights or defending this country.
They care about power. Slimy evil agents. Shut up Hannity.
