Judge knocks down (Governor) Tony Evers' (D, WI)order limiting capacity, public gatherings for now

A Sawyer County judge has, for now, blocked Gov. Tony Evers' latest order to curb the spread of coronavirus by limiting public gatherings and the number of customers bars and restaurants may serve at one time.

The order from Judge John Yackel knocks down the order at a time of record hospitalizations, new cases and deaths — and after bars and restaurants have lost a massive amount of revenue as customers stay away while the pandemic rages on in the state.

It leaves much of the state without any restrictions on public interaction at a time when the virus is surging, but some counties have chosen to enforce their own orders, like in Madison and Milwaukee.

The governor's order was lifted the same day a field hospital opened to care for COVID-19 patients as hospitals in some areas of the state become overwhelmed. On Wednesday, more than 1,000 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 for the first time since the pandemic hit the state in February.

The decision blocks enforcement and requires attorneys for Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm to appear in court on Monday to defend the order and argue why it should not be put on hold while the lawsuit brought by a Sawyer County restaurant and the Tavern League of Wisconsin is litigated.

"This is a dangerous decision that leaves our state without a statewide effort to contain this virus," Evers' spokeswoman Britt Cudaback said. "We will be challenging the decision, and in the meantime, we need Wisconsinites to stay home and help us prevent the spread of COVID-19."

Democratic state Sen. LaTonya Johnson of Milwaukee said if the decision becomes permanent, the state will be exacerbating the already out-of-control spread in the state.

There’s an election coming up. It seems like it would be easy to get people on board to agree to lock themselves up for public safety, using the State Legislature ... right?

The spokes person for the Gov wants you to be depressed and stay home, so no.

“Is there any way to find out?”

They don’t make it Front Page News, and you can find it, but Heaven Forbid they make it easy for us!

Can’t limit the Fear Mongering with FACTS now, can we?

Wisconsin deaths by age, as of 10-14-20:

https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/deaths.htm#demographics

The chart will give you percentage by age, gender, race, ethnicity and region of the state.

88% of deaths in Wisconsin were people over 60 years of age, just like any other flu year.

I don’t get this I thought the Wi already smacked this punk down. Here in Mi Half Whit just got her orders cancelled so she just did an end around by having her rat Health Dept. head impose the same rules.

He’s been smacked down on a number of occasions; this is just that latest.

He just extended the mask mandate until November 22nd, I think? That’s in the works for a smack-down, too.

I was in Walmart the other day and they are no longer demanding shoppers wear masks - I didn’t see a single sign to that effect, anywhere. There is no one at the door ‘counting heads’ going in and out, and all entrances are open now, versus them herding us through one chute like cattle.

Staff were all wearing masks, but not all shoppers were.

I can’t keep up. It’s been such a cluster all the way around.

FWIW my county has had under 200 cases, NO deaths and NO hospitalizations. No problems in our nursing homes, either. We only have a few mid-sized hospitals and they haven’t been seeing any influx of sick people throughout all of this.

Milwaukee built a HUGE Triage Center of tents at State Fair Park and it has not been used by anyone. Millions and millions of Tax Dollars wasted.

Sounds like the same BS Half Whit is pulling. When you let rats take over it’s like fighting the hydra. You cut off one heed it’s replaced by two. Wi is a shame because the GOP let the rats get away with stealing the Governors seat. As I recall Walker had it won and the rats pulled their tried and true trickery

Outside. State Fair Park. West Allis.

They’ve started taking it down. Quietly. Hoping no TAXPAYERS notice it WAS NEVER NEEDED!

Yep. We sure miss Governor Walker.

But, with all the death threats, he needed a break. He’s making some cash in the Private Sector right now - he’ll be running for something in the future. I think he’s locked into a contract until 2023, though? A 2024 Presidential run might be nice! ;)

He wasn’t ready to be President when he was running against Trump...obviously NONE of them were, LOL!

We all have our fingers crossed (and are sending her a lot of e-mails), that Walker’s Lt. Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch, will run against Tony Evers (Douche, WI) or whoever else the Socialist Doorknobs put up in 2022. :)

This whole shut down experience has had one silver lining, it’s shown the left for the tyrants that they are. It has also shown that in addition to the military industrial complex, we have a MEDICAL industrial complex-and how easy it would be to loose our liberties.

In general, a quarantine is used only for people who are sick. Locking up the entire population is house arrest-tyranny. Picking which business is essential to keep open?? Whut the heck? All businesses are essential to the workers and customers.

Open the businesses, and let people make their own choices about what sort of chances they want to take.

Another silver lining? Todays’ crappy Hollyweird may go down the tubes. One can only hope that a better more American Friendly group springs up. Ha.

Evers did that, too.

I do not believe the “hospitals full and staff shortages” either.
