I hope they agreed on no bell-bottomed moonbase uniforms.

Just what we need - politically correct, EU-UN approved space travel rules. Whew, they saved us Ugly Americans again!

More exploring? I thought it was just going to be a launch site for future missions.

A nice way to say the US government now claims jurisdiction over what you do on other planets. Might be nice if they focused on America, and 4 months of riots in cities, and the damned corona political shutdowns.
I say if you have what it takes to find a way to get to the moon, if you didn’t launch from the USA, you should be able to flip the finger to DC and not answer to them in any way.
The whole treaty and the salaries of those who negotiated it is a waste of money. Bureaucrats full employment act...that’s what this is.

When we think about the Artemis Accords, what were trying to do is establish norms of behavior that every nation can agree to, Isn't that sweet?

Nah. We land there, and declare it the 51st state, or maybe the 52nd, after the Moon. It’s what any other country would do. The ship’s already sailed on Antarctica.

I notice Russia and China are not on the list of those that signed.

Why have an accord? I thought the moon belonged to us. Is not our flag planted on it? Finders keepers.

The seven nations that have signed along with the US are: Australia, Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
—
Australia, Canada, Luxembourg, Italy, United Arab Emirates are unlikely to ever mount a lunar colony - only the US and the UK count here.
Missing are those countries that have active plans to establish permanent outposts on the moon: China, Russia, India, and the EU.
More worthless treaties.

Do a “Street Interview” (when normal resumes) outside the Ivy League of your choice. Tell them all about this Artemis Accords and then drop a single question on these bright minds; “Why name this ‘Artemis’?” Any guesses for the percentage of correct answers? Remember the slogan, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western Civ has got to go!”
