PITTSFIELD (WGME) -- Senator Susan Collins says she will vote against Judge Amy Coney-Barrett being elected to the Supreme Court.
Sen. Collins releases statement on Supreme Court Vacancy "It's not a comment on her,” Collins said. “It is a comment on the process of rushing through a nomination in such a short time before a presidential election."
Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski also said she will be a no vote for the same reason.
To block the confirmation, two more senators would have to vote against Coney-Barrett, but Republicans have said they have the votes.
Collins represents her voters. If you don’t like how she votes, it is YOUR fault. You personally. You did not buy plane tickets to fly to Maine and persuade them all to agree with your perspective.
Why would you want her to backstab her voters?
And btw, Susan Collins is the only reason Kavanaugh is on the court. Her speech in his support pulled more than just her vote to him. It was a great speech.
I guess she believes the process is wrong and rushed. Haven’t seen time limits on how long it should take.

If she’s your Senator, please vote for her; we cannot afford to let the democrats take the Senate, no matter how repulsive the republican Senate member is. If the democrats take the Senate, they will destroy us. They will impeach Trump, and pass 1984 style laws, remove our 2nd amendment rights, and all sorts of horrible things. Ditto for the House, if we can’t take it.
I don’t see how Collins keeps her base and wins her election. I think she made a foolish political gamble and it will back for.

That not not mean she will not decide cases based on the constitution. Democrats fear that she will do just that.
Obviously Sen Collings is voting against Ms. Barrett because she (Collins) is a misogynist.
Among the possibly thousands of texts I was bombarded with for donations from Trump on down was one from Karl Rove to donate to Susan Collins.
Most all of the solicitations were ignored but that one I replied, “Susan Collins? Not on your life”.

Yes, but hold on to your seat. The democrat replacing her is a Global Warming tax gasoline and oil liberal democrat that will be close to another Kamala Harris in the Senate.
