“Self defense is not an implausible argument here.”

YGBSM! Are you NUTS? I’ve been pepper sprayed before and felt no need to shoot anyone. The guy is in a crowd, surrounded by people who could intervene, and the dead man is not threatening him in any way. In fact, it looks like the guy fired the pepper spray IN RESPONSE to the guy pulling the gun out with intent to kill.....

No. This is the correct way to fire a semi-automatic pistol. If someone has a better way, let them prove it.

“...maybe muzzle flash?”

No, muzzle flash is gone before the slide begins to cycle. All the powder and gas pressure leave the barrel before the action gets moving

>> Self defense is not an implausible argument here.<<

You don’t get to pick a fight then claim self defense. Witnesses say the shooter started up with the victim when he had no reason to.

Then what? Judging by the lens flare the sun was behind him.

That “goofball” grip is how millions of properly trained people handle a pistol. My training comes from LEO and ex-military members who would not allow unsafe practices. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸Trump2020”

I have an unrelated question I just thought of. When I look at these pictures it looks like the Trump supporter is macing behind the shooter. If the shooter shot because he was getting maced how could he focus on the victim? Also how come he never shows signs of being maced during or after the shooting?

>Its like bringing a knife to a gun fight.<

The victim had a sidearm, he just chose not to use it. He already had the mace in his hand so that was the best option at that point since it is clear the shooter already had pulled his weapon before the mace was sprayed.

Witnesses say the shooter started up with the victim. Why? The victim was nowhere near his client before that nor had said or done anything to his client.

I have no idea. I’m puzzled by it as well.

The dot on the pistol doesn’t project a light on your target, and I seriously doubt it’s the round entering the guys lense. You’d need an incredibly fast camera to catch that, though I imagine it is possible

Mr Rogers :" .. the dead man is not threatening him in any way. In fact, it looks like the guy fired the pepper spray IN RESPONSE
to the guy pulling the gun out with intent to kill....."

Also, the victims right foot was elevated indicating he was backing up, and thus creating distance.
The deceased, by creating distance, was no longer a physical threat.

It would be interesting to see if there is any film footage of the station cameraman, the 'agitator', and the 'perp'
conferencing immediately prior to the shooting homocide.
Too often news coverage is 'created' for filming, rather than just the reporting (possible collusion ?).

So "C.H.U.D." is what they are calling Trump supporters now. It comes from this movie. I happen to have met the producers just before it was released back in the early eighties.

Exactly right. The spray was in response the the deadly threat of the gun being pointed at him.

If this were not true, the gun would have to be drawn, aimed, and fired in the time it took for the spray to go about 5 feet.

The shooter drew & aimed the gun before the spray was used.

The twitter bots are all over the shooting being "self defense" against the spray. That is just plain not true.

Not sure there is a Federal crime there other than a civil rights issue. 10 years on that, and I’m not sure who would have jurisdiction, civil or federal authority.

Not sure if this link will work, but it shows the shooter trying to take the victims gun and in return the victim slaps the shooter, then backs away.

I think everyone needs to reserve judgement until the facts come out.

I agree with you for the most part, and I also believe that if the apparent politics of both individuals were reversed, not only would the media be making a huge stink about the shooter, the DA or local prosecutor would have brought charges by now.

It seems like he just didn’t like getting clocked in the jaw, and over-reacted. Most people wouldn’t and I know people who would draw their gun after getting decked.

If you don’t have ice running through your veins, you shouldn’t be putting yourself into situations like this.

If the shooter doesn’t get charged, there should be hell to pay.

There’s no way the camera captured the bullet like that. At typical settings the bullet would be a faint streak several feet long (5 ms exposure time with 1000 fps bullet = a blur 5 feet long). Even relatively slow moving objects in the scene are substantially blurred/time smeared. The bullet would have been extremely blurred. It wouldn’t have been “stop motioned” like that.

The red circle looks like an object located behind and to the right of the shooter being reflected in the lens. It would be in the sun and therefore brightly lit and might have a glint. There may also be some image contrast enhancement going on that’s making whatever it is look glintier than it is.
