...RECENTLY RECEIVED DATA FROM A NOAA HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT DELTA HAS RAPIDLY STRENGTHENED INTO A CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE...
Data from a NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that Delta is continuing to rapidly strengthen. The maximum winds have increased to near 130 mph (215 km/h) with higher gusts. This makes Delta a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

Joe Bastardi was right on top of this one with his Saturday summary.
Expected to build back up to Cat 4 after hitting Cancun, and hit the Gulf Coast Thursday Night or Friday.
Could hit anywhere between Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle.
Having been through I-10 a few times lately, all these storms are making for a bunch of nice new power poles.
The entire gulf coast is going to have new stuff soon.

On slightly good news remnants of post tropical cyclone Gamma
are heading south and will probably be dissipated in a few hours.
Three weeks ago when Sally cleared out Bastardi said “we’ll get a break for a while then look for a big one coming out of the Caribbean.”
Thanks, Dave. Nauti Nurse has the dopplar graphs at the top which help orient us to where the storm is in current time. Glad to be a Westerner on days like this, but we sure can use that rain!
