Melatonin is used for other issues than just sleep issues or disorder.
But it’s interesting to know that they are using it. I’ve used it for years, and found it very beneficial, while the FDA still hasn’t ‘approved’ it, and docs scoff at it.

While some may feel this is Trump backsliding, keep in mind that after the assasination attempt on Reagan, he wrote a very personal letter to Brezhnev

I'm not saying Trump is backing down from his beliefs. But perhaps the President is feeling a bit of a kinship with the millions of people who've had this nasty bug, much in the same way people who've walked in similar shoes feel toward each other.
Indeed, I never doubted that Trump deeply cares about good people....maybe this situation is bringing out that empathetic side in him to an extent where rhetoric takes a backseat.
If so, he is in good company. And insofar as he took a shot at Biden, he's still full of piss and vinegar.

ANYBODY could and can catch this, just by going to the grocery store - and eventually, MOST of us are probably going to catch it.Trump has fearlessly put himself in front of huge crowds - because THEY wanted and needed to see him. He has also, by necessity, been associated with many people during everyday routine in the White House.
There is no way of knowing how he was infected - it could have happened in a thousand ordinary ways - no ‘conspiracy’ required.
Words of wisdom. They are going to do, are doing, the most thorough contact tracing ever done for any contagious disease. Due to the large number of human contacts Trump has had they will likely never find just a single person they can point to with certainty.
We understsnd that the purpose of the melatonin is not to make him sleep. But it could make him sleepy, and that might be a good thing for now. I have heard that Boris Johnson worked too hard when he had the virus.
