Its Muslims against Christians. I wonder which side Obama would have been encouraging. I'd guess the Muslim side.
I hate saying this, but I doubt that Putin will abandon the Christians in favor of Muslims. Obama would do the opposite. Yet, Putin is supposed to be evil. We live in an insane world.
