“...rename the GOP the Christian Republican Nationalist Workers-Labor Freedom Party....”
Or even better, just plain MERGE with the NRA and it’ll be:
New Republican Army.
That’s an interesting irony I never thought about. Most political parties around the world with the word “Republican” in their names are some radical left group, often because they are some violent revolutionary group that wants to overthrow the existing government and install some Marxist Republic. Ireland is a good example. There are many others, like the Republican Party of Belarus. I can think of only two exceptions: the USA and France (and the “Republican Party” of France is only “conservative” on paper)
I did manage to find a SMALL handful of conservative political parties around the world that use the word “Labor” (well, at least the British style spelling of it) as their party name:
Brazil
Brazilian Labour Renewal Party (PRTB)
Australia
Democratic Labour Party
Jamaica
Jamaica Labour Party
Of the three, Jamaica is the only clear anomaly worldwide, since the “Labour Party” over there is one of two major parties, and the conservative one in government. Their main opposition (and the more leftist political party) is the People’s National Party. Going by the names, you would assume their ideologies are reversed.
Finding conservative parties in government that had the word “Workers” as their name was even harder. There were a few the media tagged as “conservative”, but it turned out those were neo-NAZI loons and thankfully had no power. The only ACTUAL conservative party to call itself “Workers Party” is as follows:
Saint Lucia
United Workers Party
