We don’t need the quota, just the term limit.

Aren’t they supposed to interpret the laws, not make them?

congress is not a superior branch to the executive

they have no power to limit how and when a president appoints to the surpreme court

this clearly demonstrates they care nothing for the law and only want things in place to make things better for THEM and their plans

they care nothing if it makes government worse or cripples a particular branch of government if it works in their favor

How about Congressional term limits, Mr. Kennedy? Teddy would have been a great candidate.

Doesn't anyone read the Constitution anymore? You need a Constitutional amendment for this. I know that the Constitution doesn't have a set number of SCOTUS justices, but an amendment is still needed.

Also, notice how Dems get religion when their power is being threatened.

Joe, just because you keep losing doesn’t mean you get to change the rules.

But, what he is signaling is that by the time Trump is done, he will have replaced six or seven of the Justices.

Breyer is old, 82. SotoMayer is not well. Thomas wants to retire soon. Kennedy is 84.

If you ever felt that SCOTUS appointments were important...now is the time to vote. Trump could be appointing one a year for the next four years—easy.

Wow. Words fail me. He missed sophomore high school US Government. A co-equal branch of government cannot be modified by statute— the US Constitution has to be amended.

Because why would a democrat care what the Constitution says.

“The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour,”

That bill will disappear if Biden steals the election.

It has to be done by a constitutional amendment. And if you’re going to limit it then why limit it to 18 years? Might as well not bother. Limit it to a 4 year term with no reappointment.

If they want to do that then I’ll support it.

“Can make drastic changes in our lives.”

So I guess he is admitting that Roe v
Wade was a drastic change in our lives.

He is admitting that the court can make laws, not just interpret them. If a so-inclined person were nominated to the highest court in the land.

A law cannot establish term limits because the Constitution establishes no term limits for a judge. It would take changing the Constitution, I.e. An amendment, to establish that.

That silly ol' Constitution thing:

The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

A bill won't do it. It needs a Constitutional Amendment.

Why would the lower court judges continue to serve without limits? If this makes sense it should apply to all federal judges.
