Saturday, 26th. Picked...vote on Oct 29th? Why wait a month???
They need time to come up with a reason to not hold the vote.
so when they shoot the candidate down, they can’t do anything else by then, before the election. Don’t trust the swamp. gives the Demoklan a month to rally the issue.
Sounds late to me.
The sooner the SC hears any potential WI, MI and PA cases, the easier the cheating can be stopped.
“Why wait a month???”
I wouldn’t; there’s too much at stake. But drawing things out a bit does allow the Democrats to make even more spectacular asses of themselves to the awakening public.
I assume there will be a hearing. Since Justices have been confirmed in as little as 2 weeks, this hopefully won’t take long.
That's what I'd like to know. If they've got the votes, then they should do it as quickly as possible, to get the nominee confirmed, and get her over to the court so she can get acclimated as soon as possible. Taking that long leaves too much time for the Democrats to play games, and some a-hole Republican (like Mitt Romney) to change his mind. I don't trust any of them, so the sooner this is finished, the better. Waiting until Oct. 29th is cutting it pretty close to November 3rd.
I agree. Although perhaps by dragging this out and keeping the Senate in session, it prevents certain Democrats from campaigning at home.
Otherwise, I'd rather have it wrapped up within 16 days of the nomination because you KNOW Democrats will begin their stalling tactics, just as they did with Kavanaugh. Setting up the vote a week before the election just BEGS the Dems to find some last-minute issue that demands additional hearings.
They should aim the vote for October 15th and dare them to stretch out the hearings for three weeks.
Good faith advise and consent is legitimate. But there is no way the Dems get to have another Kavanaugh circus jerk. A month is plenty of time. They can even confirm after the election, so long as they have a full nine on deck on time for any dispute.
There is hearings, preparation etc. It can’t be done immediately. This is actually pretty darn speedy in recent terms.
My guess is they’re intentionally doing it right before the election to get the conservative base out to vote?
