RBG dedicated her life to the law. She respected our system of laws and understood them. She chose NOT to retire when Obama was President because she did NOT want him choosing her replacement.
RBG was aware of all the implications of vacating her position. By retirement or death...She had access to the press, to leaders in her party, and to 'the written word'....
RBG would not have asked for an exception to our laws to be made in her favor because she was an 'elite' on her death bed. It's not her way, not the way she lived, not the way she ruled on decisions, not part of any philosophy she extolled. She had more class than to ask for special treatment based on being an elite...
Also, IF RBG had wanted to express that 'elites' should have more power than mere citizens, she could have written it up (she wrote beautifully). Her granddaughter was NOT her only option for getting her opinion out.
She's known of her impending death for some time. She had plenty of time to 'get that message out' on her own. IF that had been her choice. It wasn't like she was in a car accident and was surprised by the possibility of dying.
In short my tagline means I believe RBG's granddaughter lied.
Ok. Good points!
