We can not face a 4-4 tie on a Michigan or pa election ballot dispute. It will be civil war.

That may happen. No guarantee that Mitch will get 50 votes. Plus it's not Manchin's election year so we won't be able to get a vote from him like he did for Kavanaugh.

Mitch needs to press hard with this angle, the country will not accept a ballot dispute resolution based on some lower appellate court if the Supreme Court ties. The country is owed a Supreme Court that can make a final decision. We are going into an unprecedented election where vote by mail is being implemented in an extraordinary manner. Democrats have already hired loads of lawyers in anticipation of lawsuits. Republicans in the senate owe the American people a mechanism for finality, not chaos,

You do understand that his decision to vote for Kavanugh was only AFTER Collins agreed to vote for him? Had Collins gone the other way, Manchin was clear that he was NOT going to give Kavenaugh his 50th vote.
