Well, if Mrs. Bill Clinton had won in 2016 (spit!), she would've retired in 2017. I think she would've retired next year regardless of who wins but she'd rather Biden name her replacement.

The Court is now, technically, 5-3 heading into a possible Presidential Election court case. But CJ Roberts cannot determine the majority now.

I would love to see a conservative replacement before January. But I don't want the politics of that process to impair the reelection of President Trump. If the Democrats get control they will just pack the Court using this issue as the fairness vector.

That being said.... the Kavanaugh hearings were Democrat killers and this replacement process might be similar. But the proximity of the election would probably give the Rats too much cover. But if Trump wins, and we lose the Senate, all bets are off and it should be full steam ahead.
