Well.., yes. But never underestimate the enemy. Not that they can win necessarily, but that they can try. There are those on the left that have been spoiling for a fight for years. They have also been lining up their ducks. Education, Media, Hollywood, Unions, Religions, even big business. Wars are not always symmetric. The left will, “literally” (literally in quotes means figuratively), go to war over this nomination. They have to. The war has been ongoing for decades. Just because there hasn't been fighting in the streets doesn't make it any less so.

Yes, decades. They're the gray-haired guys in bandanas you see in the coffee shop every day who still believe it's 1969. Their kids and grandkids are definitely raising hell, but when you ask any of them what they're protesting about, everything they say sounds like it came out of a 1971 "All in the Family" rerun. Actually, EVERYTHING we've been dealing with sounds like it came out of a 1971 "All in the Family" rerun.

This is all just an exercise in nostalgia led by former hippies who are now media executives. And they have their dutiful reporters going along with it, breathlessly reporting every burning police car.

It's nostalgia with a body count.
