This type of censorship is not new. I remember in the 1970’s when Senator Mark Hatfield was running for re-election. His Republican opponent in the primary wanted to run a full page ad showing Hatfield’s voting record. The Oregonian refused to run it.

I recall, about 1992, asking a high level NRA official why they did not run national ads.

He said they did not because the networks refused to accept them.
