Lower Saucon Township Council on Wednesday night debated a planned Republican rally but had no grounds to vote on whether a gun-toting St. Louis couple could address a crowd at the event in Town Hall Park.
The Northampton County Republican Committee will gather at the park from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who became famous after they were photographed pointing weapons as Black Lives Matter protesters walking near their home, will discuss Second Amendment Rights and self-defense.
Township residents raised concerns during the virtual meeting about guns at the park, the transmission of the coronavirus and extra costs for police, along with Lower Saucons image.
Please dont bring this hate to our community, Jeanette Peterson said.

Controversial Meeting with McCloskeys tonight.
I’ve been to Easton. That does not surprise me.
Residents asked their local government to deprive fellow citizens of their constitutional rights to free speech and assembly.
Despicable.
I know. This area is near Lehigh University, and a lot of elitist democrats live near there.
Gun toting. Lol.
Are the McCloskeys still voting Dem this election? What happened to them is a travesty. But I did read they are hard Leftists.
I think they said theyve changed their registrations and are voting for Pres Trump, now.
May have been on Tuckers show, where they said this.
Glad to hear. Thanks.

We just talked to our neighbor outside. He said he read about it in the paper & is going to this meeting. He never goes to meetings but he has a lot of guns.
Did you make it tonight?
Yes! Did you? Great turnout! Hope the McCloskeys get justice. Press was not allowed in.
Check mail.
No pun intended but tlthis couple seemed gun shy in the beginning. Perhaps I was wrong.
Perhaps they are making a bundle :-)
And that would be great with me
Would be a good advertisement for a gun company
They spoke at the Republican National Convention.
You can’t fix STUPID!!!
