Foxx and friends — including her patron, Cook County Democratic boss Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Chief Judge Tim Evans — act as if they’re untouchable.
Preckwinkle is so confident as party boss that she spearheaded a nonendorsement of respected Judge Michael Toomin in the election because he dared order a special prosecutor in Foxx’s Jussie Smollett alleged fake hate crime fiasco.
Preckwinkle hopes voters won’t connect the dots.
“It’s outrageous what’s being done to Judge Toomin,” retired Judge Sheila O’Brien, who pushed for a special prosecutor in the Smollett case, told me. “Preckwinkle should be ashamed. This is a hatchet job. They revealed themselves for who they are.”
Timmy Jordan was a felon out on electronic monitoring for a gun charge. Police said he became angry and allegedly pulled a gun and fired into a crowd. Three were wounded and two were killed. Jordan has been charged with murder.
Sincere Williams was released from electronic monitoring then entered a store and allegedly stabbed to death employee Olga Maria Calderon, a mother of two. Williams has been charged with murder.
The thing you must understand is that Foxx, Preckwinkle and Evans are liberal social justice warriors and champions of catch and release for far too many defendants. They support electronic home monitoring to reduce the number of arrestees jailed.
Nice work.
Now on to the raw politics.
On Monday, Preckwinkle, who leads the Cook County Democratic Party, convinced committeemen to not endorse Toomin for retention, even though he is a well-respected, veteran judge. Toomin embarrassed Foxx by appointing Dan Webb as special prosecutor to investigate Foxx’s bizarre handling of the Smollett case.
Foxx inexplicably dropped 16 grand jury charges alleging Smollett had faked a hate crime and blamed supporters of President Trump. None of it made sense.

Preckwinkle has been mistaken for Bullwinkle the Moose. Is Foxx related to Rocket J. Squirrel.
