I remember during the Clinton administration that he basically ignored the Middle East and tried to pander to the Arabs and Palestinians. Remember he tried to force peace between Israel and the Palestinians. And what did we get for it? The Twin Towers had planes flown into them.
If we fully withdraw from the Middle East does anyone think we will be left alone? We haven’t had a major Islamic terrorist incident since 9/11/01. Either we kill them there or they kill us here.
If there is a way to withdraw all the troops and keep us safe then I would heartily endorse that plan. But if we bring all the troops home will we be safe?
Bush had the chance to kill Osama early on, but the rules of engagement he forced prevented it.
