Shooting Not Believed To Be Politically Motivated
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The 17-year-old boy killed and another man hurt Monday in a north Minneapolis shooting were members of a Republican congressional candidate’s campaign.
The Lacy Johnson campaign says the two victims were members of the outreach team and were not performing campaign duties when the shooting occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of North Fremont and Dowling avenues.
According to the Lacy Johnson campaign and Minneapolis police, the shooting is not believed to be a politically motivated attack.
Minneapolis police say a group of people were standing outside of a Super USA convenience store when one or more shooters opened fire. The teenager and the man were hit, and emergency crews brought them to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment. The teenager was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Investigators are still searching for the shooters, who fled the scene on foot. The man who survived was listed in serious but stable condition.
Johnson, the Republican candidate, is running to unseat Rep. Ilhan Omar in Minnesota’s 5th District, which encompasses Minneapolis and some surrounding suburbs.
“Today, we are shocked and saddened to learn of this senseless act of violence. It is shocking and unnecessary acts of violence like this that prove why change is more needed than ever in our community.” the Johnson campaign wrote, in a statement.
Minneapolis has experienced a surge in gun violence this summer. According to police, this year is on track to double 2019’s homicide total.

They had no idea who the shooter is, so how could they possibly know that it is not “politically motivated”, especially when you can include “black people thinking white people should be dead” as a “political motivation”.
We don’t know the shooter was black, but if the shooter was black, and the victims white, it seems it would be “politically motivated”.
On the other hand, it could well be that there are democrats living in cities who do just run around randomly shooting people for no reason. They are a very angry people.
Political or not, they’d like us all dead. This will be openly celebrated by the left.

At Fremont and Dowling there is not much doubt what the race of the shooter would be.

The GOP’s vote share in the district within the last 20 years peaked at 25%. It’s pointless to run there.

You’ll get no argument from me. The winner of this race was decided in the Democrat primary in August.
I have nothing at all against the GOP nominee. He’s a great guy with a great message but he will lose in November. Maybe he’ll poll 5 points higher than the 2018 nominee but that’s all.
In Minnesota, I can name several races where that money would have been better spent.
In some respects, this reminds me of a guy who ran against Pelosi about 10 years ago. He raised a good amount of money, put up an effort and got beaten down in the general election.
It was wasted money.

If we don’t start fighting fire with fire we are going to be wiped out. We need to start taking out some of theirs.
