A bug was recently discovered in Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s official campaign app that allowed anyone to access sensitive voter information on millions of Americans. The privacy breach reportedly affects 191 million Americans.
TechCrunch reports that a recent study by the App Analyst, a mobile computing expert that reviews and investigates apps, found a major issue in Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s official campaign app. The campaign app, Vote Joe, allows Biden supporters to encourage friends and family members to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November by uploading their phone’s contact lists to see if their friends and family members have registered to vote.

I’m sorry, but how does the Biden campaign app have data on 191 million people? Are they saying it has that many downloads? Bull.
Okay, even accounting for contacts, it’s probably nowhere near 191M, and most of that data is phone numbers.
It’s people that downloaded *and* their contacts. So divide by a largish number, say 1-200. The number of people in their contacts is how some people keep score, apparently.
And that assumes the data was collected legitimately and contains no significant duplications - both pretty unlikely.

I dont know for sure. Im guessing it might be similar to the way “I” knew your name and address years ago when I helped make all that junk mail that used to show up in your mailbox. We used to buy information from a data warehouse.
Yeah! Two-thirds of the entire U.S. population is in their database? Then I read this: their app encourages people to "upload their phone’s contact lists." So I can see how the one million people who care about Joe turns into 200 million contacts.
They can't even manage their own data and keep it safe. But they want us to hire them to do EVERYTHING for us? There is nothing more incompetent than the fed gov.
Of course it did..now MILLIONS of people’s SSN’s have been compromised..same thing happened with me and EDD, I only gave my info to them, and I recently found out that TWO checking accounts(Suntrust and Citibank) were created in my name, closed them both..would have had NO clue if I hadn’t opened up the letters telling me my address has been changed from CA to VA
