I know the Federal Reserve bank buys government bonds, and creates money in that manner for the federal government to spend. Government bonds are sold to investors, many of whom are overseas.
We taxpayers pay our taxes, but we don’t pay enough to pay all of the ongoing expenditures of the federal government. Thus, deficits happen.
I don’t know if we have a national debt ceiling anymore. I think it was obliterated by the trillions we have spent on Covid 19 relief.

The reasoning presented in the article is pretty lame. I assume the ruling was more legally based.
Businesses should be lining up with lawsuits with all the restrictions placed on them. Government essentially took over their businesses, so let gov't be on the hook for it.

I’d like to see bar owners join with churches, hair salons, citizens deprived of being with loved ones during sickness, marriages, funerals, etc, Biz owners, etc, filing suits across the fruited plains.

There may be other suits pending. I don’t really know. Apparently this suit was filed on May 7 and we finally get a ruling on Sept. 14. Wolf will appeal which will achieve his goal of pushing this all past the election.

We're long past due for codifying the limitations of government, especially state governor diktats. In addition to codifying the limitations, the penalties, including prison sentencing in addition to fines needs to be codified.
Law or code enforcement who obey such an unconstitutional diktat need to be stripped of their authority in addition to jail time and fines. It didn't hold up at Nuremburg and cannot hold up here.
One could ask "who do they think they are?" but the answer is whoever WE let them be.
