One of the great questions I’ve always had about the communist military is whether or not the masses of troops on the ground would really fight in any scenario other than to stave off an invasion of their homeland. Reports of the attrocities toward their own troops in the Russian and Chinese revolutions, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, etc. would lead one to believe that only the threat of death from their rear makes them dedicated to waging war. The continuing purges of the officer corps would lend weight to that thought.

I agree with you, we would beat the hell out of them-today.

Our problem is not today but the Chinese timeline horizon. In the fullness of time the Chinese do not intend to beat us in a throwdown, they intend to change the nature of the game, the players and their alliances, the geography. They also intend to neutralize American advantages, hence the new battlescape is likely to be in outerspace, digital space, psychological space.

They changed geography by building islands, they change the alliance situation by intimidating their neighbors-so far reaping only an unintended opposite effect-they are competing asymmetrically in the Third World and with 5G etc.

Psychologically, they are counting on the American left and the European left to indulge their penchant for appeasement until there is nothing left to defend. Meanwhile, they count on Western cupidity to sell out every essential Western institution from our media, our academia, our financial centers, our technology.

How long is our timeline?
