I have no problem with mailing applications for absentee ballots to all voters.

I have a huge issue with mailing ballots unsolicited to all voters on the registration list.

Vote in person. Encourage your family and friends to vote in person at the polls.

The votes are tabulated instantly. Once Trump wins that state, it doesn't matter about the mail-in votes. There's no need to count them anymore.

I’m curious whether the absentee voting process, by law, requires the voter to reach out for the application. If not, then I’m okay with sending the applications.

If voters are required to request applications under the actual wording of the law, then Harris County is out of line. Harris County is Houston, and you know which party rules (not governs) there.

Aren’t absentee ballot request forms available online anyway?

My cousin received two application notices from the state of Iowa. One address to Henry, his first name, the second to Robert, his middle name at the same address.

Both notices say, you are a registered voter.

Unfortunately, many people do not understand the difference.

They point of failure is going to be the people having to secure, verify, and count the ballots. In MA—this process cannot even start until the polls are closed. Of course, in MA, this won’t matter for the Presidential election. That vote is a forgone conclusion here. But for all the down ballot races it will be a pain in the rear.
