People apparently want to make a sport out of the election - they treat it like a game in progress, and they want to know “what the score is so far“.

This is absurd, because unlike a game in progress, there is no “so far” and there is no “score”.

But that is the way people seem to want to look at it, and everyone talks in terms of who is “ahead“, who is “trailing”, who is “catching up”.

It is impossible to overstate how meaningless these tracking polls are. All they do is help the fake news build their fake narratives.
