Barr has (his own words) been adamant that DOJ would “not interfere in the election”. Anything he does now (or then) or in the future would be considered election interference by the left.

It is ironic that the media will consider government bureaucrats as partisan actors isn’t it? These are supposed to be non-partisan and apolitical positions.

I have followed this story pretty closely and there are several compelling books on what happened, who did it, and how far off the rails our government went at the orders of politicians to target their opposition. By colluding with the media (also against the law) this was legitimate coup attempt. They attempted to run Trump out of office and destroy him by lawfare with a complicit congress.

I don’t know what will happen about it and suspect that it will not be anything close to what it should be. People need to realize that if they do not prosecute this aggressively they leave the door open for the deep state to destroy another candidate/president in the future. It is that bad.

I used to buy the “Trump is playing 3-d chess” crap, but I am not sure any more. Not aggressively prosecuting the first coup attempt allowed them to do it again (impeachment) so there is not much 3-d chess in that is there?

The argument about “not interfering in the election” is crap also as it never applied to the special counsel investigation who knew well before the 2018 mid-terms that there was no collusion. They dragged it out and the leftist media continued to run with the Russian collusion delusion in that election.

2 sets of rules. 2 sets of justice.

NOT telling the truth about what happened in time for the people to make a well-informed decision is interfering in the election just as much as telling them. Withholding information is more dishonest.

Just 2? I can see more than 5 levels of justice.

“I used to buy the “Trump is playing 3-d chess” crap,...”

I never thought of it as 3D chess, or that Donald Trump was some sort of strategic super genius.

But I do think he is a very disciplined adversary and understands some common sense street-fighting tactics.

One of the most obvious street fighting tactics is:

“If you are going to shoot the king, you better kill him.“

It is a cliche, but it is common sense. When you destroy a hornets nest, you want to make sure you get every hornet. It sucks if you only kill half of them. It’s not 3D chess - it’s just common sense.

Trump’s Spygate enemies forgot that rule - they tried to “shoot the king” and he’s still standing. Advantage Trump.

I believe the explanation for why nothing has happened in four years is that Donald Trump has NOT forgotten that all important rule. He is not going to fire until he knows he’s got all the hornets.

I don’t think it is 3D chess - I just think he is a patient man and is waiting to get past this re-election, waiting for Republicans to retake the House and waiting to weed out some RINOs, waiting for it to feel like the right time to do whatever he is going to do.

Either that or he doesn’t really care about locking them up. Maybe he wants to destroy them politically, rather than legally.

Whatever it is, I am sure he is the one holding back - the idea that he wants his AGs to indict, but they refuse...that just doesn’t make sense to me. He is the President, he could order them to do it or find another AG who would.

It has to be him holding back - and probably with good reason.
