Correct me if I'm wrong, but she had been taking a hard line towards the Antifa/BLM sort, THEN, these committees popped up, saying the police couldn't do this, couldn't use that, effectively creating an untenable ROE with the thugs. I had been watching D/FW media and this happened several weeks back. She's bailing since she's been undercut by the local radicals.

Agree with you. She is taking fire from the loser Dallas Co. DA, Creuzot, for shutting down a riot before it happened. My assessment is she is a loss for Dallas, and the replacement is likely to much less desirable.

The mayor (who appears to be a retro-dem) has no real power in Dallas. City Manager calls the shots (un-elected bureaucrat).

The chief preceding the black woman was a black man, David Brown, who was a good guy, called in the order to SWAT to eradicate the blm shooter (5 down IIRC).
He retired shortly thereafter. He saw the writing on the wall.
