I wanted to put velcro on the back my kids clothes when they were really young, with corresponding patches around the house. No need to worry they might crawl away when I could just stick them to the wall. Wife didnt think that was very funny, so a great idea was nixed.
That is the best thing I’ve ever seen! Thank you.
Had Labs all my life. Have 2 now. They are nuts till they are 3.
I was just talking to my dog about the possibility that he has more redeeming qualities than many humans.
He agreed. For a treat, of course.
A cognizant dog is perhaps more likely to keep their cool in a time of difficulty versus family members who lose it easily.
If only we could get them to floss more,, they don’t mind the teeth cleanings as it is a yearly ordeal. Both are senior and in the 70ish plus range and very vocal.
Dad had a German Shepherd that used to dream and run and bark (not loud, just faint woofs) in his sleep....Our family absolutely loved that dog..... :(
Dogs domesticated humans, not the other way around. We are down to one dog but we are both in our 70s so it is time to do more with less.
There’s a video out there somewhere of a dog doing that... I felt sorry for it (it looked like it was in its last years)..
Mine were like really happy duufusses...
MY Dad used to call that :’Chasing rabbits’.
Yea, we thought that was the case too........
Don’t know if the dog ever saw a rabbit, maybe he was just dreaming of running after the kids down to the river.........Sure miss it tho
So my 7 year old black Lab is 62 human years old. But she still listens like a two year old.
PFL
My little buddy (a black lab) is 3 and a half. He still acts like a puppy in many ways.
Labs are the greatest.
I’m 70 and have 5 dogs right now (just lost 2 to old age and cancer recently), Clifford is still just an overgrown puppy 1.2 years old.
I am truly terrified of what will become of my most loyal and dependent friends if my time comes before theirs does.
And I've seen them playing pool too.
They're smarter than we think.
We had an Australian Shepard mutt.
It loved playing with the kids in the rare snowfalls, running up and down the snowy hill.
Some lady commented “Wow - your puppy sure has a lot of energy - how old is it?”
“Eleven.”
“Eleven!! Why I thought it was just a puppy!”
A couple more times going up and down the hill and it came over to us.
“Why - it only has three legs!!??”
We had to remove a leg due to a tumor at 9. The vet thought he would be okay because he was otherwise healthy, and more importantly because he had a youthful disposition. The clincher for me was “And remember - every year is 7 for him!”
As he recovered that was really hard to watch and wondering if we did the right thing. But he healed and figured it out. Lived to 13.
That was hard to watch.../.
All dogs want to be labs, all labs want to be black.
